How to Inflate and Heat Seal

These balloons do not contain a self-sealing valve and must be heat sealed after inflation.

A purpose-made foil balloon heat sealer is recommended. Alternatively, suitable household hair straighteners may be used carefully.

1. Low Heat: Set the hair straighteners to their lowest suitable temperature setting.

2. Protect the Balloon: Place a piece of thin, plain white paper between the balloon neck and heated plates.

3. Inflate: Inflate carefully with air, leaving sufficient space at the neck for sealing.

4. Smooth: Remove wrinkles and creases around the opening.

5. Heat Seal: Apply gentle, even pressure for approximately 1–5 seconds, depending on the equipment and foil thickness.

6. Second Seal: Create another parallel seal approximately 1cm from the first, if sufficient material is available.

7. Cool: Allow the sealed area to cool for approximately one minute before checking that it retains air.

Important: Heat sealing must only be carried out by an adult. Not all hair straighteners are suitable. Always test the method carefully, avoid excessive heat and follow the equipment manufacturer's safety instructions. The suggested sealing times are general guidance, not verified Anagram instructions.
